Light & Plastic Photoshop Text Effects
These are two separate Photoshop text effects tutorials. In the first tutorial, you learn how to create amazing light effects using the Photoshop Lighting Effects Filter. For this, you don’t have to manually brush the effect onto the shape, just use the built-in rendering filter.
The second Photoshop text effect shows you how to create glossy, swirly and shiny plastic effects. You can create glass buttons and 3D text effects like this. We recommend that you follow these tutorials in this order, as the second tutorial refers to the first one.
Photoshop Text Effect 1: How to create awesome Light Effects
You have probably already come across this Photoshop filter. It can produce awesome effects when applied to a whole artwork. In this tutorial, you see how applying it to a selection works out just as fine, if not even better, leading to the effect you intend to achieve.

Out of these two Photoshop tutorials, this is the first one you should follow. To view it, go here - then come back to continue with the second tutorial:
Photoshop Text Effect 2: How to create glossy Plastic Text Effects
After you’re through with the first tutorial, you can learn how to expand your newly trained skills in order to create this shiny and glossy effect for shapes and swirls. This tutorial applies the plastic Photoshop text effect, but you can use it to create glass buttons, plastic shapes, swooshy swirls and other cool things.

You can view the second Photoshop tutorial right here.
Have fun with these awesome Photoshop text effects!
